Armadillo

Our neighbor caught an armadillo at the end of our street and brought it to his yard so his kids could see it.....let me tell you, it is the most horrific thing I have ever seen!! Talk about creepy!! This poor creature combines all of the creepiest features of other animals into one sad looking animal!! Scales- it has gross scales, Big Ears- it has ears that look like bald cat ears, Rat tail- nothing else needs said, and to top it off, it has the creepiest face of all animals!! It was very docile, not so smart and not so agile....it just ran around looking for bugs to eat..... There is certainly a lot of wild life in the Texas Hill Country!!! I hope theses wretched pictures dont give y'all nightmares.....

Armadillo looks aweful. I remember hitting them by car when I was living and driving in OK. I never looked at them so close. Yuck... Anyway, be careful with those animals. They come out to your yard and dig dig dig dig until they are satisfied...

I don't have very many memories of living in Texas but one of the few I have is seeing Armadillos. The shock factore must have been there for it to stick in my long term memory. I also remember beautiful Texas Blue Bonnets that would grow wild. Gorgeous! Have you seen any of those?

What? I thought it was cute! Then again my dad tried to train raccoons to come in the house. He would coax them with animal crackers. They never did.

However, the squirrels were much more gullible, and hungry. They would happily come to the back door and just stand there looking through the glass for my dad and his bag of crackers. I may have had a different encounter with nature than you did. I bet an armadillo would be easy to train...
