On the go!

Rylan is getting the hang of the good ole' Army crawl and the first thing he heads for is our Christmas tree! He loves the lights and colors! It is so much fun watching him grow and figure things out! He brings so much joy to our lives!

Rylan's pictures reminded me of my first christmas photo......our birthdays are just three days apart so we were the EXACT same age in these photos!

Super Saturday

This is the picture frame I made at our Super Saturday craft day! It was made using a 24x24 inch tin tile and was so much fun to make!!

All about hubbie tag

I have made it 6 months in the blogging world without getting tagged but Ketzy tagged me with an "all about Hubbie"

What's his name? Russell Alma Kay

How long have you been together? 4 years this January from when we first started dating, but we have been married for just over 3 wonderful years.

How long did you date? 9 months

How old is he? 31

Who eats more? ? Russ

Who said 'I love you' first? Russ

Who is taller? Russ

Who sings better? Russ, it is one of his hidden talents! Just get him on a karaoke machine and watch out!

Who is smarter? Russell's always tells me that with age comes wisdom so he must be!

Who does the laundry? I do if I don't want my colors mixed, otherwise he is happy to do it!

Who does the dishes? He helps out when he can.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Russ sleeps on the right side during the summer and I sleep on the right side during the winter. (The heater/AC vent is over the right side of the bed so this keeps him cool in the summer and me warm in the winter, not to mention prevents the mattress from getting worn unevenly!)

Who pays the bills? Russ technically "pays" the bills as I no longer work.... but I write the checks and mail them.

Who mows the lawn? Russell

Who cooks dinner? If I want to be able to eat it, I do....again, he is happy to cook but I like a different style of cooking....he likes to mix one can of everything we have in our pantry with eggs and call it a meal! Although he does do a great job with the grill!

Who drives when you are together? Define "drives"....He is in the "driver's seat" but truthfully I am quite the back seat driver. He drives a little fast for my liking so I do not hold back the reminders! But I am proud to say that since we have been hitched he hasn't got a single ticket! (well that I know of....)

Who is more stubborn? Equally stubborn---sparks fly!

Who kissed who first? Russ kissed me on Laguna Beach

Who asked who out first? Russ

Who proposed? Russ

Who is more sensitive? Me

Who has more friends? Russ

Who has more siblings? Russ

Who wears the pants in the family? He thinks I do-- finally, something we can agree on! He claims he is always right so it must be the case!

The good old days!

A tribute to all the good hardworking men in our lives!!
An Actual 1955 Good Housekeeping article.
Double click on the image to make it larger!
I bet the men in our lives wish it was still that way! This was read in one of my dating and marriage prep classes at Ricks (as a joke...)!!

I am a child of God

I am a child of God

and he has sent me here,

has given me an earthly home

with parents kind and dear.

Lead me, Guide me, walk beside me.

Help me find the way.

Teach me all that I must do to live with him someday.

Smile'n Rylan

Our hibiscus bloomed! The weather has been so wonderful!

Watching General Conference.

Nice shot!

Nursery

Here is a shot of what we did to Rylan's nursery....I couldn't find baby boy bedding that I liked so I ended up buying a king bedding set and my mom and I used the fabric from that set to sew a crib set....(the king dust ruffle was the perfect length to make the crib dust ruffle and a matching window valance.) The truth be told- he hardly ever sleeps in the nursery---I still have him sleep in his bassinet in our room....I guess I am a way attached mother! The poor little guy is getting too big for the bassinet so I will have to toughen up and make the transition in the next couple of weeks!!! Ha! And to think that I thought it was SOO crazy when people told me they kept the cribs in their bedrooms for the first year!! I guess I understand now how the next room over can feel like a mile away!

Big boy!

I can not believe he is big enough for a toy like this! He will be five months old on October 10th.
Check this out! This is a comb-over that Donald Trump would be jealous of!

My little sweetheart!

I love this little guy!

To grandma's house we go!

over the river and through the cactus, to Grandmother's house we go! We took a quick weekend trip to Snoflake, AZ to visit Russell's parents.

Tummy time gone wrong!

He did a major "spit-up" and before I could grab him he laid his face right in it then just looked around like it was no big deal so I decided to take a quick picture before the clean-up!!

4 months old!

It was FINALLY cool enough to go for our first outdoor stroller ride!!

His hair sticks straight up!! If we comb it down it looks like a comb-over and will be straight up within a few minutes!

Rylan loves watching football with Russ!

Rylan has quite the mohawk these days!
He loves the blanket that grandma Janette made for him!
