Trip to the Library

Rylan and I love to go a small town library located in a neighboring town. They have an adorable children's section with all kinds of fun things and we have been the only people almost every time we go so Rylan runs the show and has free range on all the activities!!! They have a great selection of board books that are perfect for his age!! I have just as much fun as he does!!

Great Company!!

My good friend Kristin, who was my college roommate at BYU, came for a visit and to meet Rylan!! It was so much fun to catch up and spend time with her!! Rylan enjoyed having another friend to play with as well! Thanks so much for coming out for a visit Kristin!! My cousin Rustin, who was in the area for medical school interviews, also came up for a day last week. It was so fun to have visitors!!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!!

We went with some friends to the local minor league baseball game. Rylan was in heaven!! He loved the cheering, lights, action, people, and rain!! Yes, it rained!! Rylan refused to wear his rain coat so he sat in his T-shirt soaking wet with all the other die hard fans and had a huge grin the whole time!! He cheered and clapped the loudest in our section for sure!!

A taste of Heaven!

After failed attempts to grow tomatoes in AZ we successfully grew an edible tomato!!! I had been watching this lovely specimen for weeks patiently waiting for it to grow bigger and turn that bright red--Alas, the blessed day of harvest was here!! I proudly set my prize tomato on the table to take a quick picture. Just as the shutter flashed open and closed, Rylan's little hand came out of nowhere and stole the tomato and took a bite!! Who can blame him! Home grown tomatoes, freshly picked and still warm from the sun rays are truly a taste of heaven, right up there with Godiva Chocolate Raspberry truffles!!

The Oasis

The Oasis is a restaurant on huge cliff overlooking Lake Travis with spectacular sunset views. Practicly every table has an veiw!! We went there last weekend with our neighbors. On our way out the door we realized that Russ and Rylan were both wearing black T's and camo shorts!!

All Boy!!

We promise we did not teach him to do this....I think it is instinctual for little boys!!

Where did he get his blond hair from?

Ummmm.....I going to go with my instincts on this one!!


We get asked this question all the time so I thought it would be a good excuse to post some cute pictures of Russell!! I also needed an excuse to post that picture of Rylan.....I think he is in the middle of a squeal/cheesy smile/blink!!

What do you do in the Summertime?

My mom and sis came for a little visit! Here is what we did.....

Toured the Zilker Botanical Garden....

Checked out the TX state Capital...(we did not get out because it was so warm outside and Rylan was spent...but we did a quick drive by and pledged the TX flag....)
Baked and ate "SPRINKLES" cupcakes

Rope Swinging at Camp Ben McCulloch Went to the Salt Lick for some good ole TX BBQ

we also went to the outdoor flea market and saw some awesome antiques and bought the best avocados.....They are huge and delicious and the best thing of all was that they were picked fresh!!

To relax after our fun adventures we lounged by the pool and as you can tell from looking at my sis in all these photos she caught some good rays!!
